Being born legally blind in one eye and told she would never play ball or any sport was one thing, but in 2012, Lauren was mauled by a 100-pound American Bulldog while swimming at a friend’s house. After losing part of her nose, ear, and lip as well as having both cheek bones and facial bones crushed; Lauren came back more determined knowing that God had a plan for her life.  With that as the backdrop, Lauren Baker authored her first book entitled God's Girl Living for a Purpose.  The book has sold very well and has helped her share her testimony with other teens as well as adults.
